甲仙攔河堰位於高雄市甲仙區甲仙大橋上游約450m處，每年約引一億噸旗山溪多餘水量至南化水庫，以提高南化水庫供水量。另配合南化水庫與高屏溪攔河堰聯通管路營運，將嘉義、台南及高雄的水資源統籌調配運用，是南部重要水資源設施之一，對穩定南部地區供水貢獻卓著。甲仙攔河堰自民國88年完工營運已屆20年，為確保相關設施能持續且穩定操作，須進行安全檢查。另攔河堰右岸上邊坡屬農委會林務局列管之國有林大規模崩坍潛勢區（編號D044及D047），營運期間，因颱風豪雨影響，曾發生多次崩坍。本局於108年2月已完成「106年甲仙攔河堰聯外道路邊坡水土保持工程」，施工期間埋設有監測儀器，後續仍需進行相關監測，以確認邊坡穩定，爰成立本計畫。

The Jiaxian Barrage is located about 450m upstream of the Jiaxian Bridge in Jiaxian District, Kaohsiung City. It draws about 100 million tons of excess water from the Qishan River to the Nanhua Reservoir every year to increase the water supply of the Nanhua Reservoir. In addition, the Nanhua Reservoir and the Gaoping River Barrage Weir will be linked to the operation of the pipeline, and the water resources of Chiayi, Tainan and Kaohsiung will be coordinated and deployed. It is one of the important water resources facilities in the south and has made outstanding contributions to stabilizing the water supply in the southern region. It has been 20 years since Jiaxian Barrage was completed and operated in 1988. In order to ensure the continuous and stable operation of related facilities, safety inspections are required. In addition, the upper slope on the right bank of the barrage weir belongs to the large-scale collapse potential area of the state-owned forest (No. D044 and D047) managed by the Forestry Bureau of the Council of Agriculture. During the operation period, due to the impact of typhoon and heavy rain, many collapses occurred. The Bureau completed the 106 Years Jiaxian Barrage Link Road Side Slope Water and Soil Conservation Project in February 108. Monitoring instruments were embedded during the construction period.
