本計畫將以歷年辦理石門、曾文、南化、烏山頭水庫整治計畫辦理經驗，先以新店溪上游南勢溪流域進行生態資訊蒐集與盤點，彙整生態課題並與在地社群建立夥伴關係及溝通管道，並輔導臺北水源特定區管理局辦理工程生態檢核工作，及辦理工程生態檢核機制推廣教育訓練，藉由生態專業團隊提供棲地及物種特性，釐清可能生態議題，並在既有之工程生態檢核基礎上，強化文化資產保存之功能，進行減輕對策研擬，以落實工程生態保育與人文資產底蘊共存的環境。

In this project, we apply eco-checklist for engineering projects to the conservation engineering projects in upstream watershed of Xindian Creek, and take those engineering projects as examples to promote eco-checklist. We provide consultation to Taipei Water Management Office to help them with executing ecological check in totally 60 construction sites of 5 engineering projects, and picked 5 construction sites among them to conduct key-species investigation. The starting time of the eco-checklist work for each engineering projects are different. We helped with the collection of background information, the on-site investigation, and the discussion of environmentally friendly measures for each engineering projects. We also held 2 briefing sessions targeted to the citizens for 2 engineering projects respectively in their design stage. Local NGOs that were concerned with the environmental resources were invited to the sessions to give opinions. The key-species investigation included aquatic and terrestrial animals, and their ecological data and activities are collected via fish traps and camera-trapping respectively. To promote the eco-checklist, we held a conference to study the mechanism of ecological check, in hope of solving difficulties encountered during execution. Also, we held 2 training sessions on eco-checklist. Forty-two people who’s job is related to the affairs of engineering projects or the relevant business attended the sessions. The contents of our training sessions included ecological resources and conservation concepts in the stream watershed, introduction to the mechanism of eco-checklist, and ecologically friendly engineering methods. Questionnaire showed that the level of satisfaction of training sessions are all higher than 81%, and that the main improvement in concept after the sessions were “conservation of key species”. As a whole, the achievement of this project definitely supported Taipei Water Management Office executing eco-checklist. Training sessions and conference also achieve in promoting eco-checklist comprehensively, and further that, engineering management and conservation may achieve balance in future management of stream watershed.
