牡丹水庫大壩為一中央心層分區滾壓土石壩，壩頂長445.6公尺，最大壩高約65公尺，壩頂高程EL.145m。溢洪道設於左岸，為明渠洩槽式，右側與大壩銜接，其進口為弧形閘門控制之溢流堰，下接洩槽，尾端設有戽斗及落水池。為確保水庫蓄水之安全與穩定，壩體、溢洪道及鄰近邊坡於施工期間埋設有監測儀器，作為水庫營運期間大壩安全行為觀測，以提供水庫下游民眾生命財產之安全保證。配合監測儀器之觀測對大壩進行定期或不定期安全檢查，以確保本水庫蓄水之安全性。由於土石壩安全監測研判分析工作涉及土木、大地、水利、地質、儀器系統等多項專長的結合，屬特殊的專長領域，依目前管理單位人力資源現況並無法負擔本項工作的執行，亟需要具備專業之廠商來協助辦理安全監測相關檢查及監測資料判讀分析工作。

This project is routine surveillance works of Mudan dam for dam safety in 2015, Which been entrusted by South Region Water Resources Office, WRA, MOEA, (WRASB) owner of Mudan dam, was handled by Huan Jheng Engineering Consultants Ltd.. (Huan Jheng). Work Includes: 1. Analysis of monitoring data for dam safety; 2. In-situ facilities inspection of safety; 3. Assessment of dam behavior and safety; 4. Inspection and review of monitoring instrumentation; 5. Technical advisory; 6. Results reports. According the results of this work, there are no obviously unusual behavior, which could threat the dam safety, be found from the reading of functional instrument and inspection of dam in this year. The structure condition of spillway and outlet facilites are well, no deformation, no settlement, no over uplift force be found by monitoring and inspection. The slope of access road of spillway, which sliding before, is stable in this year, but the right side slope was slightly moving after strong rainfall in September. For stability of these two slopes, drilling horizontal drainage pipe is suggested to control the ground water level rised up during strong rainfall. Beside, although some piezometers embedded during dam constructure are failured, at the condition of no obviously abnormal, the exist instrumentation still reluctantly for dam safety monitoring works. In future, if abnormal seepage condition of dam is found, should have to strengthen the capability of monitoring of dam.
