本署目前已建置完成台灣西南沿海至東部各鄉鎮在不同規模海嘯下溢淹潛勢圖、建立視窗化介面系統及編製查詢手冊。為進一步了解東北海岸(蘇澳至基隆)不同等級之海嘯規模之溢淹潛勢圖，且持續精進及整合現有視窗化介面系統，本署規劃一年期之委託服務。 本計畫主要工作內容為延續前期計畫之成果，評估東北沿岸在環太平洋地震帶發生地震時之海嘯波高及到達時間、製作東北地區之溢淹潛勢圖及於圖面上加入東北地區(蘇澳至基隆)之重要水利構造物。其次，為提升預報效率，將建立東北沿岸各鄉鎮之格林函數，合併現有之海嘯波高資料庫至同一視窗介面；並且為增進使用性及應用性，持續精進目前之視窗化介面系統與Google Earth介面之整合，使圖檔能利用Google Earth讀取，即時輸出海嘯通報單以作為災防應變作業之參考。

In this project, the whole Circum-Pacific seismic zone is considered as the possible tsunami source area. The first step is to collect the topography, tsunami records and the information of earthquake. Following the method of previous projects, maps of inundation potential in noutheastern Taiwan from Su-ao to Keelung are made under bell-shaped waves of different wave height . Besides, the database of offshore tsunami wave height and a visual interface of noutheastern area will be made in this project. Based on the known earthquake records and some previous studies, it is probable that a mega-tsunami will occur in the Okinawa Trough and Ryukyu Trench. Su-ao area will have the higher risk if the Yaeyama Tsunami happened again based on the numerical simulation. The method of reciprocal Green’s function is used to build a database of noutheastern area and eights forecast points are assigned in the noutheastern coast. Now, the database and its visual interface, and the inundation maps of eight towns have been finished.
