筏子溪歷經多年整治，整體河防結構已趨近完善，治理重心漸由硬體工程轉向河川管理，過往為抑止河道內植被過度生長影響河道排洪效能，常以全面清除為優先作法，惟傳統方法將造成生態系統平衡衝擊。為有效提升筏子溪河防安全，同時兼顧河川生態保育，以「筏子溪河防安全與植被疏伐作業可行性研究計畫」為主軸，進行全面性的研究與分析。本計畫將蒐集與調查筏子溪流域的基礎資料，分析河川特性及植被分布情況，並評估各類疏伐樣態與水理變化分析，探討河川環境的調適策略，整合生態友善措施與棲地品質提升的對策。藉由本計畫的推動，期望能在確保防洪安全的同時，達到生態保育與永續發展的雙重目標。

The Fazi River, a tributary of the Wu River in Taichung, has undergone extensive flood-control works over recent decades. With most structural flood control structures now complete, governance measures have shifted toward river management. Historically, vegetation within the river channel was cleared.comprehensively to maintain flood capacity, often at the expense of ecologicalbalance. To reconcile flood protection with ecosystem preservation, the ThirdRiver Management Branch, Water Resource Agency initiated the FeasibilityStudy on Flood Safety and Vegetation Removal for the Fazi River.
