嘉義地區近年產業發展迅速，行政院自民國110年9月宣布於太保市設置嘉義科學園區以來，已於民國112年5月動土興建，預期未來嘉義產業用水需求將大幅增加，而其他產業用水如水上產業園區(南靖農場)、中埔產業園區(公館農場)用水亦須納入考量。爰此，為增加嘉義地區水源供給能力，前期計畫係規劃引取赤蘭溪剩餘水量，及結合既有蓄水設施、自來水設施等進行水源運用，已有初步可行成果。本計畫擬進一步辦理水質調查、地質鑽探、地形測量外業補充調查及水源分析等工作，並進行工程可行性規劃，俾利後續計畫推動。
英文摘要
To enhance the water supply capacity of the Chiayi region, apreliminary plan was formulated to divert surplus water from the ChilanRiver and integrate it with existing water storage and tap water facilities.This initial phase has demonstrated preliminary feasibility. The currentproject advances these efforts by conducting supplementary fieldinvestigations including water quality surveys, geological drilling, andtopographical surveys, as well as performing water resource analysis andan ecological checklist to facilitate future project implementation.
