本計畫將以近百年來淡水河水環境變遷及地域間的調適為研究對象，追溯日治時期及戰後至今的人為和自然力量如何形塑淡水河，藉由梳理河道變遷、資源利用、災害調適、流域治理等歷史脈絡，論述淡水河之特色，以及因利用水資源或調適災害與社會變遷、地方發展的互動關係而孕育的水文化樣貌，歸納發展脈絡，建構淡水河水文化整體論述。上述研究成果，將成為未來接續計畫出版專書、辦理講座及數位走讀的基礎，供氣候變遷調適計畫以及相關機關、團體參考使用。

This project aims to further examine and discuss this segment of water history and culture, hoping to provide a foundation for water resource authorities and the public to co-create the future of the Tamsui River. Specifically, the project will focus on the changes in the Tamsui River’s water environment and regional adaptations over the past century. It will trace how natural and human forces during the Japanese colonial period and post-war era have shaped the river. By analyzing historical contexts such as channel evolution, resource utilization, disaster adaptation, and watershed governance, the project seeks to articulate the characteristics of the Tamsui River. It will also explore the water culture shaped by interactions between water resource use, disaster adaptation, social change, and regional development, summarizing developmental trajectories to construct a comprehensive discourse on the Tamsui River’s water culture.The research findings will serve as the foundation for subsequent initiatives, such as publishing monographs, organizing lectures, and creating digital walking tours. These efforts will provide references for climate change adaptation plans and related agencies and organizations.
