本計畫係水利署依據「臺美水資源發展技術支援協議第八號附錄第3號修正案」，與美國內政部墾務局進行實質之水利技術合作，藉由墾務局所屬技術服務中心(Technical Service Center, USBR)長期累積之河道土砂運移及河川復育專門技術，發展適用於台灣河川之分析模式與專門技術，並藉由技術轉移教育訓練，落實雙方技術合作之成果發展及後續應用。
英文摘要
The technical assistance and cooperation for water resources program between the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) was established in the 1980s. Various water resources projects have been carried out which have been executed through the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) and the Taiwan Water Resources Agency (WRA). Years of collaboration have produced fruitful results and proved beneficial to both countries to deal with the challenges facing the sustainable use of limited water resources.
