各標的用水之運用情形，長久以來皆為經建、水利相關單位及各學術研究單位所重視，為使政府對於各項用水量，能有明確之統計數據，以利於各項用水政策的訂定，及各界進行水資源規劃之參考，本水利署為提供大眾此項寶貴資訊，固定每年出版用水統計報告。前揭統計年報之統計、編寫方式已沿用多年，近年來水資源開發及應用情勢變化日趨多元，而水資源管理亦日趨精緻化，藉由107年各標的用水量及水源來源透過有限資料進行統計估算，以作為水資源規劃管理參據。

Water resource can be divided domestic water, industrial water and agricultural water consumption, including irrigation water, livestock water and aquaculture water consumption. The water source is included ground water (river water and reservoir water), underground water, recycled water and sea freshwater but not included in the statistics this year. This project is included ground water (river water and reservoir water) and underground water, but not included recycled water and sea freshwater and regarding to the different type of the water source and region (north, center, south, east and islands) to do statistics. The Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs annual report of the water source is based on water consumption to do statistic, not only “The statistic report of agricultural water consumption”, “The statistic report of industrial water consumption”, “The statistic report of domestic water consumption” and “The statistic report of water consumption”, but also “The statistic report of water storage facilities operational” can showed continuity according the previous information and establish the statistic database of water consumption to provide to the public, government agencies and academic institutions network consulting services. The statistic result of the water consumption in 2018： 1.The water consumption of the Taiwan in 2018 is about 16 billion and 713 million and 380 thousand m3, Agricultural water consumption is the highest, about 11 billion and 890 million m3, for 71.14% of the consumption of water, the second is domestic water consumption, about 3 billion and 155 million and 810 thousand m3, for 18.88% and the industrial water consumption is about 1 billion and 667 million and 570 thousand m3, for 9.98%. 2.There have 95 official reservoirs in 2018 and the total water flow into reservoir is about 30.268 billion m3. The water intake from reservoir is about 26.82 billion m3 and the water overflow is about 4.195 billion m3.

這份「107年用水統計年報彙編」報告由經濟部水利署於民國108年12月發布，旨在彙整並呈現台灣地區107年度的用水統計數據。報告涵蓋生活、工業及農業用水，並依據地面水（河川水、水庫水）及地下水進行統計分析，同時呈現再生水及海淡水等資料。 107年度台灣地區消耗性用水量共計167.13億立方公尺，其中農業用水量最高，佔71.14%；其次為生活用水（18.88%），工業用水量則佔9.98%。報告亦詳細分析了工業用水的來源、歷年變化趨勢，以及各區域和產業別的用水情況。此外，報告還包含蓄水設施水量營運、用水統計資料庫的更新與維護，並對海水淡化廠、再生水廠及境外引水等補充資料進行了調查。
