With the intention ofpromoting the public environmental literacy and of triggering real actions,Zengwen Reservoir Management Center, Southern Region Water Resources Office, Water Resources, MOEA, obtained the Environmental Education Facilities or Venues (herein called EEFV) in August 2012, which was also the first public organization of both Water Resources Department and Tainan City obtained EEFV. In 2013, Zengwen Reservoir Management Center committed to provide environmental education service to the public. Focusing on water resources,the environmental education course programs of Zengwen Reservoir are mainly designed to convey the concept of water shortage and furthermore to call for the real actions for cherishing water resources. The core values of Southern Region Water Resources Office are not only to face the problems, approach pragmatically, obtain mutual benefit, reach social felling, and render historical glory but also to commit the excellent performance in environmental education. In addition to Zengwen Reservoir Management Center, Southern Region Water Resources Office are striving to promotWater Intercept Weir of Gaoping River Management Center to obtain EEFV due to the uniquely geographic location and special water supply for Kaohsiung area. Meaningwhile, diverse water resources, stable water supply, featured alliance, better together, are set as goals for Southern Region Water Resources Office. With the aim of supplying the true information for water resources, understanding the cooperation between both public and private sectors for stabilizing water supply in Kaohsiung area, learning the preciousness of water resources in the closest way to life, it is believed that all inspirations definitely cause self-reflection regarding environment and subsequently initiate environmental protection actions. On the basis of purposes mentioned above, Southern Region Water Resources Office conduct-The Project of Implementation of Environmental Education by Southern Region Water Resources Office in 2018 (herein called this project). By means of this project, the excellent performance of Zengwen Reservoir environmental education can be achieved and gradually increased the actual influence on environmental education. In the meantime, this project was also design to assist in the application of EEFV for Water Intercept Weir of Gaoping River Management Center. I. Internal cultivation and external implementation of environmental education for Southern Region Water Resources Office To sum up,6 environmental learning activities including 4 outdoor and 2 indoor lecturesfor staffs were completed. The total number of participants was 409. In terms of training for environmental education teachers, six events for 28 hours with 155 participants were also completed. Applications related to online course designing for Water Intercept Weir of Gaoping River were finished. Promptions associated with systematic function were overall accomplished to meet A level for Accessible website mark. Website link options for both Zengwen green map and partner cooperation were set up, as well. The workshop for commercializing environmental education for Zengwen River watershed was held on 31August, 2018. The total number of participants was 58. The main themes of this workshop included the executive experiencesharing by Southern Region Water Resources Office, outstanding cases sharing, brainstorming related to tour planning for all participants. Furthermore, the best tour planning were also voted by all participants and the winner was Group 2. Over 95 percentage of participants were satisfied with this workshop. Avtivitiesregading promoting water resources or conservation cooperated with Southern Region Water Resources Office and other related organizations were successfully completed. The total number of participants was 934. II. Sustainable operation and brand promotion of Zengwen Reservoir environmental education facilities Based on selected idea of tour planning brainstorming, the recreational packages including cooperation between Zengwen Reservoir, mizi community and southwest Coast National Scenic Area were well designed. Pre-experienced tours with 23 participants were arranged on 19October. In order to further promote the diverse options for Zengwen learners, suggestion for environmental education course was to integrate dining points, environmental education stronghold, and combination of recreational packages. Two environmental education project staffs completed 14 teaching services including 473 participants. According to assessment regulation of environmental education teachers, 17 teachers passed, while 3 failed. In terms of cultivation of Zengwen Reservoir volunteers, 21 volunteerspassed. After document assessment, cultivation, and interview, 18 volunteers successfully obtained qualification. A summer camp for children to experience Zengwen Reservoir environmental education was taken placed on 26-27. The total number of participants was 61 including 35 children, 17 staffs, and 9 teachers. The most popular activities for children were self introduction, boat tour, star viewing. It indicated children preferred to outdoor activities. Furthermore, children like to meet new frinds by means of self introduction. Based on the inspired elements of ZengwenTreasure Map, an environmental educatiothen picture book named as “Going Zengwenand widening view” was completed. Two versions for both students and teachers will be printed in the future for meeting the demands of course design. III. Promotion for Zengwenenvironmental course and application of environmental education facilities or venues for Water Intercept Weir of Gaoping River Management Center 2 sets of environmental education courses including the management of Zengwen Reservoirfocued on the anti-silting tunnel and the five senses experience for 4 hours. In addition, the promotion of Typhoon Morakot course was also conduct by special teaching aids. So far, 2,952 participants attended environmental education courses. The main group was fundamental school teachers and students. The most popular course was introduction to Zengwen Reservoir. Except Zengwen Treasure Map, satisfactions of courses were above 95%. Cooperations between Water Intercept Weir of Gaoping RiverGaoping River, nearby Environmental Education Facilities or Venues, schools, organizations and communities were promoted. A communication avtivity was also conduct to induce further alliance. The documental preparation of EEFV application for Water Intercept Weir of Gaoping River Management Center was completed. After confirming by Southern Region Water Resources Office, further application procedure will be soon commenced. IV. Other administrative cooperation According to related regulations, all hours associated environmental education were registered at environmental education lifetime learning website of EPA. The assessment for volunteers was held on 28 Aug. Mantainance for current system and layout was also carried out to meet the operation needs. Total numbers of assisstances for both Zengwen Reservoir Management Center and Water Intercept Weir of Gaoping River Management Center were 36 and 24, respectively.
