physiography of this section (of the river) has changed because of completions of several transportation projects in the recent years including Zhong-Shan National Highway and High Speed Rail, therefore both the river regulation plan and the drainage regulation plan should require a renewed review.
Comprehansive survey and analysis of the Fazih River to reconfirm the overall planning and regulating guidelines, as well as to set up a quality river environment and to achieve ecological preservation by coordinating the construction of river environment.
Fazih River is under central custody. It has a full length of 21.25 km, a watershed of 125.10km2, and an average gradient of 1/137.
This project were according to principles of the report in the past, it chose 6 stations to carry on the analysis of the storm frequency. The probability distribution goodness of fit test is judged by chi-square test. Thus, the 48 hour maximum storm of the best probability distribution is the Logarithm Pearson Type III. Then, it used the Rational Formula, the triangular unit hydrograph method, the Instantaneous unit hydrograph method, and dimensionless unit hydrograph to calculated discharge. It proposes to continue using the original value of planning in 1988.
The project performed one-dimensional hydraulic calculations for the Fazih River system by HEC-RAS. The program was developed by the US Department of Defense. It used the original discharge and the cross sections survey data of the Fazih River in 2015 to model the hydraulics of water flow through natural rivers. According to the result of HEC-RAS Simulation, the flood drainage ability of the Fazih River System approximately satisfies with 100 years recurrence interval flood stage.
There are 2 bridges on the stream of this project. According to the results of one-dimensional hydraulic Simulation via HEC-RAS, the situation that the bridge length is shorter than width of channel or the elevation is lower water level then in 100 years recurrence interval flood stage, authorities of bridge should rebuild with the project. The bridges that scoured by current or flowing rapid, authorities of bridge must properly keep the safety of bridges.
To get a grip on disasters, it collected present situations for the Fazih River system, also did site survey and Local briefing session.
