Typhoon storm often induced scour of foundation protection work, then dike’s slope face fails and breaches for river dike. The phenomenon affects the safety of people’s life and their properties. Actions of typhoon waves in sea dikes also induce failure due to dike's footing scour and breach those influence people's life as well as their properties. Therefore, how to prevent damage amplifying is the main objective of dike's emergent work study.
The study of this project includes collecting information of foreign and domestic, damage categories of domestic river and sea dikes, case investigations as well as emergent work methods for domestic river and sea dikes. Animation and photos of emergent work method for river and sea dikes are made based on the study results, and educational training was performed to raise the efficiency of operation procedure and reduce damage in the future.
Domestic River Management Offices' 36 emergent work case(27 river dike cases and 9 sea dike cases) information including damage cause, emergent work method, equipment, material and photos is collected. Based on damage-cause categories, there are dike's footing scour, slope failure, overtopping and breaching for river dike damage cases. Among then, occurrence probability of dike footing scour failure is as large as 88% which is the maximum. Its emergent work method is to hang and put concrete blocks, rocks, bulk bags and driving steel sheet piles. The equipment is backhoes, cranes, trucks and piling machines etc. Causes of sea dike damage include dike footing scour and dike slope failure 89%, and dike overtopping 11%. The emergent work methods use hanging and placing concrete blocks, rocks as well bulk bags. The equipment is backhoes, cranes and trucks etc.
There are five topics for 3D animation. Among them, footing scour, slope failure, overtopping and breaching for river dike, as well as footing scour, slope failure and overtopping for sea dike. Photographs were made and inserted into study data to provide material editing for educational training. All of animation and made photos add subtitle and aside. We especially thanks to the advices from personnel of Water Resources Agency as well as committee member's examination on the study project.
