台灣地區受到全球暖化影響，造成氣候變遷及極端雨量之出現，尤其近年來颱風所挾帶之超大豪雨造成大面積新生崩塌地，更衍生土砂災害等後續問題。由於崩塌等土砂災害與水庫集水區植被類型關係密切，其對環境保育、水源涵養影響需予以關切，近年來水庫集水區眾多植被類型中，竹林面積廣大，對環境保育、水源涵養是否產生負面影響亦受關注，石門水庫集水區即為最明顯之案例，實有必要對其進行深入研究，以提供相關保育對策參考。有鑑於此，本計畫除針對竹林之環境保育問題進行整體之彙整分析外，亦針對台灣北、中、南區水庫集水區選取典型之竹林區域進行環境功能性調查評估、土砂災害問題分析、土壤與植生結構調查，最後提出保育對策，以供水庫集水區保育管理措施之參考。

Climate change is considered as the global challenge that the impact of new climate situation on Taiwan cannot be neglected. According to the scales of typhoon and rainfall in recent years, the disasters have seriously damaged numerous lives and properties. Besides, the land has become broken after the disasters. In terms of catchment areas around reservoirs, the management and conservation becomes even more difficult. With the shallow-root characteristic, pure bamboo forests in catchment areas are extensive. Besides, with low economical benefits, bamboos are lack of renewal that ageing bamboo forests are likely to result in problems. Negative evaluations on environmental protection and water reservation therefore have been concerned. Aiming at the bamboo forests in major catchment areas around reservoirs in Taiwan, this project tends to investigate the bamboo forests of Makino Bamboo in northern areas, Phyllostachys bambusoides in northern areas, D. latiflorus Munro in central areas, and Bambusa stenostachy Hackel in southern areas. Aiming at the overall analysis of the environmental protection of bamboo forests, the catchment areas around reservoirs in northern, central, and southern Taiwan are selected typical bamboo forests for evaluations of environmental functions, analyses of soil and sand disaster, and investigations on soil and plant structures. Finally, the protection strategies are provided for the government as the reference of reservation management in catchment areas.
