為促使國內民生節約用水能加速地推動，並達到民生用水減量與回收再利用技術與成功改善經驗充分推廣之目的，舉辦5場的節水經驗分享座談會；另本年度執行96、97年水利署民生及公共大用水戶節水技術輔導案例之成效追蹤，俾供水利署作為後續辦理節水輔導及相關施政之參考。本年度之實際成果如下： 1.完成25案次之民生及公共大用水戶節水技術輔導（其中桃園、新竹地區計10案次），年節水量達191.8萬噸。 2.完成96年受輔導對象成效追蹤與本年度節水建議方案之受輔導單位改善意願調查，並提報水利署作為節水政策參考。 3.完成節水經驗分享座談會5場次，與會者308人次；並推廣學校、旅館業之節水經驗，以及雨/中水利用、省水器材換裝等2項技術。成效追蹤與成果報告彙整。

The increase in the domestic population and rising standard of living as the economy expands has placed high demand on Taiwan’s water resources. Furthermore, due to changes in the climate pattern in the recent years that has reduced the precipitation frequency and to the increasing difficulty in locating new water supplies, the question of how to allocate and effectively use the limited water resources in Taiwan has become an urgent issue. In response to the Executive Yuan’s policies on improving the domestic water-using efficiency and on ensuring a stable water supply for the basic demand of mankind even as the economy expands sustainable , to meet the integrality and the sustainability of the ecosystem and human developing at the same time .The 2009 Commercial and Institutional Water Conservation Program provided water-saving consultation to 25 major commercial and institutional water consumers. These consultations improved the water usage practices of these commercial and institutional users and reduced their water consumption needs and expenditures. In addition, to further accelerate savings on commercial and institutional water usages and to promote water conservation techniques and success stories, seminar on sharing water-saving experiences were held in Taipei, Changhua and Pingtung, with theme focusing on water conservation practices for schools and organs. The Program also validated and analyzed the results of the Commercial and Institutional Water Conservation Programs from 2007 to 2008. These findings will provide the basis for future policies of the Water Resource Agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In summary, the achievements of the 2009 Commercial and Institutional Water Conservation Program include: 1.Provided consultation to 25 major commercial and institutional water users and achieve water-saving of 146.9 million ton／year. 2.Validated and analyzed the results achieved by the year of 2007 and 2009 of Commercial and Institutional Water Conservation Programs. Also investigated the improvement of the recomended proposals of water-saving in this years’ Commercial and Institutional Water Conservation Programs and aided the Water Resource Agency on planning related policies in the future. 3.Hosted 4 water-saving seminars with a total attendance figure of 318 participants.
