民國105年5月4日總統公布通過自來水法部分條文修正，其中第九十五條之一規定「法人、團體、個人於國內銷售中央主管機關指定之用水設備、衛生設備或其他設備之產品，該產品應具省水標章。」，故未來中央主管機關將公告應具省水標章之產品，日後若於國內銷售未具省水標章之產品，依據自來水法第九十八條之一規定，將處罰鍰，並限期改善，屆期未改善者，得按次處罰。 為因應上述自來水法部分條文修正案，本署已完成「省水標章管理辦法」，目前本署規劃馬桶及洗衣機2項列為優先推動應具省水標章產品，後續將逐步檢討其他省水標章產品之推動；因此將針對上述優先推動省水標章之相關製造商、進口商及經銷通路商等，辦理抽查及稽查輔導與宣導等作業，並就辦理情形檢討未來廠商及經銷通路商後市場之查核機制，俾利未來持續性地推動省水標章查核業務，爰辦理本計畫。

The Water Supply Act was addition of Chapter 6-1 and Articles 95-1, 95-2 & 98-1 and promulgated on May 4, 2016 by Presidential Decree. The Article 95-1:”When juristic persons, groups and individuals sell the water equipment, sanitary ware or other equipment designated by the central authority-in-charge for domestic, a Water Efficiency Label shall be labeled on such equipment or ware.”. The Water Efficiency Label was moved from a voluntary mark into a mandatory one. The Ministry of Economic Affairs was make a preannouncement on the designation of washing machine , single flushing Water Closet and dual flushing water closet require Water Efficiency Label. In the early implementation stage it should strengthen the policy advocacy and inspection by the Water Efficiency Label products and counseling for manufacturers, distributors should understand the meaning and post-market inspection mechanism. There are 3 major work items including the counseling for the products requiring Water Efficiency Label, Review the results of the inspection counseling for the Water Efficiency Label products, amendments to the post-market inspection mechanism, the Water Efficiency Label products propaganda operations.
