本局鯉魚潭水庫為降低大台中地區供水風險，研議辦理鯉魚潭水庫備援供水系統規劃，在既有自來水供水管路之外，由原來預留的發電取水口(即現今第二取水工)及發電管路加以銜接一條供水管路作為備援，工程現已竣工驗收完成。 依據經濟部100年6月21日經授水字第10020206521號函示，辦理蓄水與引水建造物設施改善，如涉主體結構重大改變，整體改善工程完工後，應依據「水利建造物檢查及安全評估辦法」第22條規定，就整體工程進行複核，使用前安全複核計畫書業奉經濟部同意辦理，爰提本委託服務計畫書。

Cross-over pipe of first raw water pipe is also equipped with branch manifold to second raw water pipe. The construction has completed. According to the letter of the Ministry of Economic Affairs on June 21, 2011, No. 10020206521, If There are major changes in the main structure are involved when the improvement of facilities for water storage and diversion construction will be implemented., All project shall be reviewed in accordance with rule 22 of the " Inspection Of Hydraulic Structure And Safety Evaluation Methods " after completed ,According to the rules ,Central Water Resources Office apply for the project " Safety review of the Second Water Intake Works at Liyutan Reservoir before use ".
