Due to the complex drainage systems and numerous hydraulic structures in Taiwan, It cannot be correctly displayed by the current hydrological and hydraulic numerical model parameters. In order to improve the accuracy of the numerical model simulation results, it is first to select the experimental area to perform simplification of the hydrological and hydraulic analysis in the numerical mode. The project will select two experimental areas, and the land use will be purely for fish farm and dry farmland. Collect hydrological and geographic data from two experimental areas and observe hydrological and geographic data. Rainfall station, water level station, velocity station and inundation water level station are set in the two experimental areas, the CCTV devices are set in the experimental area of fish farm, and infiltration measurement station is set in the experimental area of dry farmland. The project will conduct the Hydrologic observation and data collection in the experimental area, and integrate it into the data display platform to provide long-term physiographical and hydrological data for users to conduct hydrological and hydrological model calibration and verification and related research. Three rainfall events were observed in the two experimental areas, including 18-20 June, 2-3 July and 23-25 August. The rainfall intensity were between the two stations in the South and the north of Taixi and Mailiao Rainfall Stations. The project results are as follows.
1. Although there are records of water level in the observation data for analysis, the drainage situation in the fish farm area is known by CCTV time-shrinking photography records and local visits. It is most affected by the downstream tide level, fishermen’s drainage operation and operation of the exit gate opening and closing.
2. Because of the low rainfall intensity observed in the dry farmland experimental area, the drainage of the farmland drainage channel is not obvious, and the soil infiltration is affected by the irrigation of the farmers on weekdays. When rainfall occurs, only the water content of the surface layer of soil (about 30 cm) changes, but the soil water content below 60 cm does not change significantly.
3. Man-made operation is the most important factor in the discharge water in the experimental area of fish farm. Rainfall has little correlation with fluctuation of water level stations in the fish farm. Therefore, in the SOBEK model of fish farm, several pumping units are set up to simulate the water level.
4. The SOBEK rainfall runoff model in dry farmland experimental area is divided into many sub-catchment areas with ridges as boundary areas. RR-SCS model is used to calculate rainfall runoff in each sub-catchment area. The ditches around dry farmland are simulated by one-dimensional channel model. The parameters of 0702 rainfall event is calibrated and the other two rainfall events are verified with the same parameters. The results of simulation and verification are good. The variation range of CN values in each sub-catchment area is approximately consistent with the results of soil infiltration experiment in dry farmland, and its value is between 62 and 68.
5. HEC-HMS mainly simulates rainfall runoff in dry farmland. Each sub-catchment area adjusts CN values and checks them at observation control points. Because of the insufficiency of observation data, it compares the runoff discharge with SOBEK model. The results of runoff discharge comparison between the two models are good, and the range of infiltration parameters used is the same.
6. The information display platform of this project includes introduction of two experimental areas, real-time and non-real-time rainfall, water level and velocity observation records, model calibration and verification results, and provide data download.
