Water Resources Planning Institute, Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs has implemented the "Second Upgrading Potential Inundation Maps " program from 2014 to 2016 in Taiwan, and has been completed year after year to establish the whole Taiwan inundation numerical model Based on SOBEK mode. However, the numerical model established contains large physiographic and hydrological data, Such as the physiographic information of river, drainage systems, rainwater sewer, bridge, pumping station, gate, detention pool, and the hydrological information of the catchment range, area, slope, CN value and the corresponding land use. With the completion of the hydraulic engineering project, then the establishment of the two-dimensional inundation model is gradually different from the present situation. In order to maintain the correctness of the basic data of the model, to ensure the reliability of the model calculation results. The field Investigation and update the model physiographic information data should arrange regular executed.
The program is conducted in three phases. The first phase: supplementary information to the survey and update, including the field Investigation and update of physiographic information, the catchment range delineated and the physiographic data review and update. The second stage: numerical model refinement and update, including inundation numerical model update, establish HEC-HMS mode. The third stage: value-added application research, including rainfall alert value, disaster water level early warning, disaster inundation depth warning. This plan will according to the contents of the "Second Upgrading Potential Inundation Maps of Kaohsiung City" (2014) to carry on the update and the modification. Let Water Resources Planning Institute to facilitate follow-up research and development of the forecast simulation with real-time two - dimensional inundation in Taiwan, another value-added application (such as inundation rainfall alert values), also can be prepared for the next stage potential inundation Maps.
