In recent years, because of the global warming, the extreme climate calamities were occurred constantly in the world. The torrential rain caused by the typhoon often brings the severe flood hazard, so that the levee (revetment) is destroyed. It had been found that the most common destruction condition was the scouring of levee foot in the past several years.
In order to grasp the current condition for the hydraulic structure at main stream of Houlong River, the non-destructive inspection is adopted to inspect the use condition and inside damage state of levee (revetment) structure, including the crack within the structural body, moisture content state and pipeline condition. The purpose is to grasp these information in order to use them as the reference basis at the time of maintenance management in the future.
In the scope of program, there were 114 damaged places assessed by regular visual inspection, in which 101 places should be planned for improvement, 12 places should be noticed for improvement and 1 place should be improved immediately.
The ground penetrating radar was adopted to detect the levee in 19,965.5m of length. It was found that 779m of levee had slightly cavity signal, 21m of levee had common cavity signal, and no larger cavity signal. The impact echo method was adopted to detect 101 points, in which there were 26 points with penetrating crack.
As for the strength test of levee body material, the tensile strength spans between 159~536 kgf/cm2. Generally speaking, the average tensile strength is 370.6 kgf/cm2. The standard deviation is 97.2 kgf/cm2 and the coefficient of variation is 26.23%.
After marking the visually inspected damage positions on the ground penetrating radar drawing, the cross verification and comparison of inspection results could be conducted. The assessment sections were divided into 184 sets. After assessment, the Haikou Fishing Port Revetment (0K+000~0K+300), Tenweiliao Levee (0K+300~0K+600) Erchangli Levee (2K+700~3K+000) and Seuliaojue Levee (0K+900~1K+000) had severe damage. These sections should be noticed for improvement. In addition, 52 sets were classified as the planned improvement sections and 128 sets were normal sections.
As for the damaged places in scope of program, the repair alternative was proposed according to the damage type and destruction position. There were 114 damaged places in the program by visual inspection, the estimated repair fee is about NT$ 3,930,000.
