104年愛水節水月宣導活動，本署將辦理啟動記者會及大型節約用水宣導活動各1場，以喚起民眾在生活的每一天，力行節水行動的熱情，並將於年底辦理節水績優及節水評比競賽成果發表會，以激勵節水成效卓著單位與人員。另外將辦理愛水節水創意海報徵選活動及節水夏令營等，推廣愛水節水理念於社會大眾，讓愛水節水觀念與行動能夠深耕落實，進而達成省水(Save)、查漏(Check)、作回收(Do)的目標。

World Water Day originated from the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro. In the conference, March 22th was selected as the World Water Day and it's an activity aiming to promote the comprehensive management and planning for the water resource and to advance the understanding of the shortage of sweet water for the people. The objectives of the establishment of the World Water Day is to reach a consensus for the public the importance of the protection of water resource. The earth day, April 22, this year is the anniversary for the modern environment movement initiated in 1970. Ministry of Economic Affairs Water Resource agency (WRA) held the Water Conservation Month activities in 2013 and 2014 during the World Water Day and Earth Day, from 3/22 to 4/22, to promote the water conservation consciousness in public and to generalize the water saving activities. WRA wishes to advance the progress of establishing a water saving society and to reach the consensus for public in this issue. 2015, WRA continued to hold the Water Conservation Month activities, echoing the World Water Day and Earth Day activities, and to cooperate with local government, advancing the efficiency of the policy. The program this year continues what we have done last year, to turn the slogan into action. Especially in this critical moment to fight against the drought.We claimmed civil about love water - saving action specific implementation in life.In addition, we invited celebrities as water conservation advocacy ambassador, with visibility and influence spokesperson,with seven projects,claimmed to decrease unnecessary waste, efforts to collect all of the expectations, with tide water crisis sustainable water resources. The seven projects of the plan are as follows: 1. Holding a Press Conference to Announce the Start of Water Conservation Month 104 年愛水節水月宣導活動計畫 成果報告書 V There was a serious drought in Taiwan at the beginning of this year, and the numbers of average monthly rainfalls were recorded as the lowest ones in the history. The press conference which was to announce the start of Water Conservation Month was held on March 16, 2015. We advocated that all people should practice the behaviors of water conservation in their daily lives, and we also announced the launch of a series of activities. 2. Holding a Promotion Activity of Large Scale for the Idea of Water Conservation A promotion activity of large scale for the idea of water conservation was held at Zhongzhen Park in Zhongli District in Taoyuan City on April 12, 2015. The representatives of Taoyuan City Government, Taiwan Water Corporation and many suppliers of water-saving devices were invited to the activity. Through the promotion, the idea of water conservation by all the general public was advocated to fight against the drought in this critical moment. 3. Competition of Creative Poster for Water Conservation The related information of the "Creative Poster Design Competition for National Drought Fighting Operation" was officially announced on March 11, 2015. The period of the reception of works was also over on May 1, 2015. Totally 380 pieces of works was received and accepted. 8 excellent works were selected by the meetings of reviewers and were sent into the second phase operation of voting on the internet. 4. Holding a Presentation for Announcing the Results of the Competitions of Excellent Sectors and Performances in Water Conservation The planning of related affairs will continue with the focus on the presentation for the result announcing of the competitions of excellent sectors and performances in water conservation. The planning and execution of works will all be done, and a plan for the practice of detailed procedures will be submitted for Water Resource Agency to ensure the theme of the activity and the details of its execution. 5. Water Conservation Summer Camps 104 年愛水節水月宣導活動計畫 成果報告書 VI The first series of water conservation summer camps were held in the region of Kinmen Islands. Parent-child color filling summer camp and the sharing of knowledge and behaviors for water conservation was conducted there. There were nearly 700 citizens from 175 families participating in the summer camps; The planning for the other two series of water conservation summer camps was also done. 6. Compilation of Activities in Water Conservation Month and the Design and Production ofWater Conservation Promotional Materials The compilation of the details of over 50 activities in Water Conservation Month was complete. The ways and types of promotion were various, and more than 10,000 citizens participated in the related activities. The digital newspaper for Water Conservation Month was written and issued for 4 times; The promotional materials for water conservation were also designed and produced, which included folded fliers, fliers and posters for large scale promotional activities, posters of the creative poster competition, roll-up banners, standing plates and flags for promotion, the LOGO of water conservation mascot and a 30-second MV of promotional song for water conservation. 7. Conducting Promotional Tasks in Accordance with the Arrangement for Related Activities Specified by Water Resource Agency We conducted promotional tasks in accordance with the arrangement for related activities specified by water resource agency. A presentation for the promotion of water conservation was conducted when President Ma inspected Baoshan 2nd Reservoir on March 14, 2015; Another presentation was conducted at Yizai Elementary School in Tainan on March 24, 2015. There were totally 3s times of presentation activities.
