英文摘要
The main purpose of this project in the second year was to utilize the 3D hydraulic model developed in the first year to analyze the embankment failure potential along certain channel reaches of Deshang Drainage line. We considered two scenarios including 25-year return period flood and 610 flood in 2012. The analysis results showed that the embankment failure potential is minimal under the considered scenarios.In addition to failure potential analysis, we installed a automatic monitoring system on the left bank along the reach 4,679~4,802 m of Deshang Drainage line. The embankment along this reach is gabion. The system monitors the displacement and pressure head of backfill soil, water level, toe erosion, and horizontal displacement of gabion in real-time which could indicate the safety of this embankment.We further evaluated the embankment failure potential under 19 typhoon events at the two reaches where the monitoring system was installed. According to the simulation results, we found that the water stage could be an index to judge that the embankment will fail or not. In other words, we can pre-define a value of water stage for embankment failure early warning. Once the water level is higher than this value, the embankment would be failed in the following hours.According to the results of warning water stage, finally we proposed a framework for real-time monitoring and early warning of embankment failure.
