經濟部水利署南區水資源局(以下簡稱南水局)於2010年辦理「三維網際網路地理資訊系統平臺建置計畫」，移轉水利署已開發建置之三維網際網路地理資訊系統及相關資料庫服務。南水局為達成水庫水資源資訊永續利用之目標，於2012年度辦理地理資訊系統圖資整合暨系統維護計畫(第一年期計畫)，配合業務需求辦理3D WebGIS系統維護及資料庫更新作業，以達成應用資源共享及成果展示之目的。

In 2010, the authority (Southern Region Water Resources Office of Water Resources Agency of MOEA) executed "3D Web GIS platform build plan" that attempted to reform the 3D system and database of the WRA GIS services. To achieve the goal of sustainable use of water resources systems and data sharing, the specific project (divided into several years, it’s the first year) was assigned to aggregate and maintain database system of GIS service in 2012
