Changhua Country and Yunlin Country in the Chuo-shui River abundant alluvial fan area groundwater savings, due to groundwater extraction use rather become the most serious land subsidence area in Taiwan region. As there are many factors that caused the subsidence, subsidence in the region, although the main reason for the excess use of groundwater, but the completion of construction of Taiwan High Speed Railway (THSR) and the Expressway surface surcharge for the effects of subsidence should not be ignored. In addition, Changhua & Yunlin area in response to possible future land use and development, and even affect the planned building of the load, so the expected amount of the settlement and assess possible risks associated with, in order to take preventive measures.
The purpose and scope of this project is to clarify the Changhua & Yunlin area and three kilometers wide range along THSR of the existing hydro-geological conditions and water table changes for different load type and size of the role of surface subsidence caused by the amount, and as future land use and development of the overall development plan taking into account any basis. The content of the work plan includes the following six items:
1. The collection, comprehensive arrangement and induction of hydrogeology and groundwater level data in Changhua & Yunlin area.
2. The collection, comprehensive arrangement and induction of land use data of three kilometers wide range along THSR in Changhua & Yunlin area.
3. The estimation of surface subsidence caused by the ratio of load of three kilometers wide range along THSR in Changhua & Yunlin area.
4. Changes in the existing groundwater conditions, ground subsidence analysis of the different load.
5. Assessment reviews the current status of land use of three kilometers wide range along THSR in Changhua & Yunlin area.
6. The direction of future land use and specific recommendations of three kilometers wide range along THSR in Changhua & Yunlin area.
Preliminary research results of this project the entire sum as follows:
1. The intersection sections (the chainage is 224K+260 ~ 224K+405) for the 78 E/W Expressway Taisi-Goukan of the recent accumulation of subsidence and differential settlement of the largest sections, so this plan for the earth-filled embankment of the surcharge analysis, the analysis at 65 m below the surface (the bottom of the piles) of the total settlement amount of ground, and by the subsidence monitoring data to analyze the differences in the amount of analysis comparison. The analysis showed that the earth-filled embankment of the surcharge will affect the settlement variation of the THSR bridge, but there are still some differences to be studied and analyzed to clarify.
2. The other earth-filled surcharge analysis is also given for the “Yunlin Station Special Zone” (the chainage is 217K+600 ~ 219K+900). At 70 m under the surface (the bottom of the piles) of subsidence analysis, and monitoring by the difference in value analysis out of the settlement than to show the load analysis of this case are quite different, suggesting that analysis of the main differences may be based the construction temporary additional load caused by earth-moving stacked.
3. After preliminary analysis, “Changhua Station Special Zone” because of better geological conditions in the region, so analyze the development of the site preparation of land subsidence caused by the small amount of THSR and lead to the bottom of foundation piles (50 m depth below the surface) angle variable changes small, the preliminary conclusion that the THSR bridges have limited impact on the settlement variation. The “Nan Chang Science and Technology Park” because of the deep region of a very thick stratum of clay, so the analysis was the large amount of subsidence, but the result of the bottom of THRS foundation piles (60 m depth below the surface) angle variable is still variable changes in the design standards within the preliminary conclusion that will not immediately affect the safety of the THSR bridge.
4. Another area for THSR along the major types of development situation, including point, line and area types may be loaded subsidence caused by the impact analysis. Results obtained by the preliminary study, the amount of land subsidence by development size, strength, impact loading within the scope of the hydrogeological structure, and many other factors influence.
5. The various stages of progress of land use for this project, including regional water resources, the development zone planning, design and construction phases, puts forward policy proposals for future reference.
