從高雄縣興達港至典寶溪口間長約18公里之高雄縣北段之海岸段(含各河口)。經由海氣象等相關基本資料蒐集分析、海岸地形水深測量、灘線與底床質粒徑調查分析工作，進行海岸侵淤變遷比較及特性分析、海岸結構物影響與其防護成效之檢討，作為日後海岸防護工作及環境營造計畫之參考依據。

The investigated coastal area of the present project ranges from Xing-Da Harbor to Dian-Bao River, about 18 km long with the estuary section counted. Within this area, analysis of the shoreline evolution and beach development, as well as of the capacity of beach-protecting devices and their influence on surrounding area, are conducted. These works are generally based on a variety of investigations including the survey of specified fundamental data, topography measurement, and analysis of bed loads distribution. The present results are considered useful for the future protective works and environmental management on the coastal area.In the end of the project, numerous sets of fundamental data of the targeted and neighboring area have been collected, such as the weather climate in terms of temperature, rainfall, wind speed and direction, and oceanic climate in terms of tide, wave, and currents. Others include information of recorded sand transport, hydrology, and ecosystem in the studied area.Examination of horizontal control points and bench marks were conducted during the period of May 12~20, 2010, for post-winter topography measurement which was carried out in May 3~June 8 in the same year. Immediately after the super typhoon Fanapi, the concerned topography was measured in Sep 25~Oct 10, 2010. Lastly, post-summer measuring work was done in Nov 18~Dec 3, 2010.Bed loads investigations of summer and winter season were finished in July and Dec, 2010, respectively, and analysis was made in detail.Along with previous measuring results of topography and geographical data collected in the present project, historic shoreline evolution of the targeted area was studied. In addition, planar and sectional analysis for topographic variation was also conducted by comparing relevant topographic data.For the reviewing of the capacity of the protective devices in coastal area, as well as their influence on surrounding region, related engineering activities in the past were referenced. On the other hand, field investigation was conducted to ensure the latest coastal environments and the usage of the lands behind the banks. Moreover, the safety of the coastal area of the present concern was also assessed in terms of the balance estimation of the sectional beach profile, and influence of the coastal structures on neighboring region.
